Arsenal have been dealt a major blow in their bid to secure third spot in the league table, after their pacy winger Theo Walcott was ruled out of their last three league matches after he had to be substituted following a hamstring injury in the 0-0 draw against Chelsea.
The 23-year old limped off in the second half against their arch rivals at the Emirates Stadium and had to be replaced by Gervinho. Arsenal have confirmed that the Englishman will not be playing a further part in the Gunners’ remaining fixtures.
He joins the injury list, which already includes the likes of Mikel Arteta, whose season ended in the 1-2 loss against Wigan Athletic, Per Mertesacker who was stretchered off in the match against Sunderland and Jack Wilshere who hasn’t featured for Arsenal at all this season following a stress fracture.
