Roma and Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi has decided to stay in his current club. MU and Chelsea were reportedly interested in acquiring him as his previous contract was due to expire at the end of this season.
De Rossi has signed a five-year old extension with AS Roma which has come after many months of negotiations with the player and his representatives. The deal puts an end to rumours the 28-year-old might be heading to England in the summer.
‘We have reached an agreement with De Rossi for five years,’ the general director of the Italian club Franco Baldini announced in Italian media. ‘Tomorrow we will give the financial details of the deal. We are delighted to announce this agreement.’
