Despite strong interest from Brazilian club Santos for English side Chelsea’s out-of-favor winger Florent Malouda, it seems likely that Santos would not get their way as they are baulking at the Frenchman’s weekly wages.
The French wideman did not feature majorly in Chelsea’s last season’s domestic and European ventures, and was down the pecking order behind the likes of Juan Mata and Daniel Sturridge in the wide positions. With the London club’s two recent acquisitions in the form of Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, Malouda is destined for further time on the bench.
With the 32-year old approaching the twilight period of his career, not many can blame him for quitting Stamford Bridge in search of regular first-team football as he looks to sign what looks like his final contract.
