England manager Roy Hodgson has selected his 22-man army for the Wednesday’s friendly against Cesare Prandelli’s Italy in Berne where as expected he gave many new faces an opportunity to shine.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick returns to the national team after two years while promising midfielder Tom Cleverley is included too.
