Chelsea wrote to the court last Wednesday to ask for Terry’s case for allegedly racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand to be delayed until after Euro 2012. The request was granted but it seems the letter was counterproductive as it pushed the FA to make a decision to strip Terry of the armband.
England boss Fabio Capello asked Terry not to quit international football. Terry had been planning to retire after Euro but his decision may have changed as he is allegedly planning to call it quits as an England player before the tournament.
