Chelsea hoping to land bargain basement player from Italian giants
Chelsea are seeking for options elsewhere as their pursuit of Spain’s Cesar Azpilicueta have stalled and the Londoners are lining up Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner as their next target.
The Blues have terminated the contract of Jose Bosingwa and targets Marseille right back Azpilicueta to fill that role. They have lodged a bid of around £5m but it was turned down by the French side.
Chelsea are now looking for option elsewhere although the Spaniard remains as the first choice. However, if they fail to land him, the club will look for other options.
The FA Cup winners are targeting the 28-year-old Swiss right back Lichtsteiner who plays for Juventus. The player can operate on the wings and can give Chelsea much needed pace from the flanks.
He joined the Old Lady from Lazio for 10m Euro in 2011 and has featured 36 times last season scoring two goals....
