Chelsea have given up their hopes of landing Brazilian Hulk after Porto are demanding an exorbitant value which the Londoners have refused to meet.
Porto are reported to have slapped a valuation of £60m for the striker who is currently serving his nation at the London Olympics.
Russian outfit Zenith St Petersburg are set to have emerged as the new favourites to land the Porto hit-man after they are reportedly offered £38m for the 25-year-old.
“I have not heard about a bid from Zenit, but at £40 million I cannot see Porto selling,” a Chelsea source told ESPN as quoted by the Daily Star.
“I know Chelsea have been linked with Hulk all summer, in fact all year. But Chelsea have never negotiated. Chelsea know the price and are not prepared to even negotiate around those sorts of figures.”
