Chelsea Defender Charged For Punchgate
Chelsea’s Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic has been charged by the Football Association with violent conduct for the incident which took place during Chelsea’s 2-1 win at home against Wigan Athletic.

The 28-year old was caught on camera punching Wigan’s Shaun Maloney shortly before Chelsea’s Juan Mata struck the winning goal in injury-time. The incident went unnoticed during the match as it occurred behind referee’s back.
The incident though was taken into consideration at football’s governing body FA, and they have decided to charge Ivanovic with violent conduct.
