Chelsea have rubbished rumors that club owner Roman Abramovich held serious talks with manager Andre Villas-Boas about the latter’s job security.

The club also stated that billionaire owner Abramovich dropped by to the team’s training session and spent 20 minutes talking to Villas-Boas, but denied that there was any sort of ‘showdown’.
Abramovich has fired several coaches in his 9 year reign as Chelsea owner, but the club still claim that Villas-Boas has the confidence and full backing of the owner and club, despite recent results not going their way.
A club’s spokesman revealed, “Roman likes to get down to Cobham and watch training whenever he can. He was able to visit on Saturday and he and Andre had a good chat after the training session, which is normal.”
